Annual BBQ (formerly Pig Roast): Presentation of Founders Award recipients and thanks to the fire department.
Pancake Breakfast and Run Like the Wind
Social time followed by presentation by Brian and Rosemary Donahue who own a cabin called the “Listening Post”. According to an article by Gene Mackey in the July, 2010 Allenspark Wind, former owner Siegfried Wagener was “arguably one of the most important weapons the allies had in WWII.” Area Club members will receive an email with the link to join in and we sure hope you will -- it will be fun!
Highway 7 cleanup day will be Monday, September 28th. If you would like to help, meet at the Olive Ridge Camp Ground entrance just off Highway 7 at 9:00 a.m. to receive your trash/recycle bags and safety vests. Anyone and everyone is invited to join us; wear hats and sturdy shoes and bring sun screen and gloves.
Mike Cousineau, Assistant Fire Chief, will be there to talk about the issues that came up during the forest fires last October which highlighted the urgent need for new radios for the volunteers as well as for the trucks. Join in before 4 p.m. for some social time
