2022 Diversion Day

Allenspark Area Club / Boulder County Diversion Day

The Allenspark Area Club and Boulder County’s Resource Conservation Division are again holding the annual Diversion Day. This event collects numerous materials for recycling, diverting them from the landfill. This is part of the county’s Zero Waste initiative. This event is for residential properties only. We cannot accept items from businesses, including lodging. The event will be held on Saturday August 13, 2022 from 9:00 AM until Noon. It is located in the lot between the Allenspark Osmun fire station and the transfer station. Enter on the side of the fire station.

Items to be collected at no charge are: (Please read carefully, we can only accept items listed.)

Appliances, including those containing CFCs (Freon) such as refrigerators and freezers.

Motor Oil

Antifreeze / coolant

Paint and Stain – Latex and Oil based.

Electronics

Mattresses and box springs

Cushions from couches and chairs

Tires – with or without wheels, pickup truck size maximum

Batteries these include lead acid automotive type batteries, household types such as AAA, AA, C, D, rechargeable Ni Cad and Lithium. This is expanded this year.

Lumber – New this year. We can accept dimensional lumber only. The wood must be raw. No paint, stain, treated or glued as it will be shredded for mulch. There will be one dumpster. If it fills we cannot accept more.

Trash can be deposited at the transfer station using the normal, daily services for the standard fees. As always, the transfer station will provide its’ regular service of scrap metal, textile, cardboard, paper, aluminum, glass, steel and plastic collection for recycling.

The Diversion Day event is open to all residents and land owners within the Boulder County portion of the Allenspark Fire Protection District. Be sure to bring some ID to verify this. Utility bills work well for property owners whose primary residence is out of the area.

We will have helpers but if all possible please be prepared to unload your own vehicle.
