Monday, September 14, 2026Highway 7 Cleanup Meet at the parking area by the entrance to the Olive Ridge campground at 9am, ready to have some coffee and a pastry. Then with orange trash and recycle bags and a map, you’ll set out for a walk with nature and friends to perhaps discover something valuable on the side of the road. That hasn’t happened for a few years but if you do find that “treasure”, it’s “finders keepers”.

Program is 
Scott Rashid, Director of Colorado Avian Research and Rehabilitation Institute (CARRI).  
 researching many types of owls, hummingbirds and crows. Each fall members of CARRI operate three banding stations, two that target Northern Saw-whet Owls and one that targets Boreal Owls. He rehabilitates injured birds of all types, with the exception of waterfowl and shorebirds.
Scott is also an artist who has created his own unique style of watercolor painting — a combination of cubism and realism.
